About Us

This is where you find out “how” the WunderRosa Winery got started.  My husband Clare was making wine in Texas as a hobby when he decided, after his retirement from the phone company, to come “Home” to Nebraska and start a winery on his homeplace.  After purchasing land from his Dad, designing & building the winery, we planted grapes and “Here” we are.  We opened in 2009 with four wines and now operate with ten wines adding more each year.

WunderRosa is kept going each year by a community of people.  Our 13 family members planted the 976 grape vines in three days by working dawn to dusk.  We need lots of help picking, crushing and running the Tasting Room during harvest in August and September.  It is a busy time until the grapes are picked, crushed and in the tanks.

Clare was the driving force behind this winery and our “community“ of workers have brought  WunderRosa to where it is today…a w’u‘nderful venue for family events, weddings, parties, class reunions with a great view of the Lincoln skyline.  The WunderRosa is also a good place to meet friends and enjoy a great wine with entertainment throughout the year.
